Job Description
We are looking for an experienced DGM – Quality to lead and drive the overall quality function for a tyre manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for ensuring consistent product quality, strengthening quality systems, reducing defects and customer complaints, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control function for tyre manufacturing operations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality strategies aligned with business and customer requirements.
- Drive process quality, product quality, incoming quality, in-process inspection, and final inspection.
- Monitor and improve key quality parameters across tyre manufacturing processes.
- Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Reduce internal rejection, rework, scrap, warranty claims, and customer complaints.
- Manage and improve customer quality performance, ensuring timely closure of customer complaints and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Production, R&D, Engineering, Maintenance, SCM, and other functions to resolve quality issues.
- Establish and monitor quality KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead internal, external, customer, and certification audits.
- Ensure effective implementation of quality systems, SOPs, control plans, inspection standards, and process controls.
- Strengthen supplier quality through supplier audits, development, and corrective action programs.
- Build, develop, and mentor the quality team to strengthen technical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports and improvement plans to senior management.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in Quality within the tyre or automotive manufacturing industry.
- Strong exposure to tyre manufacturing quality and customer quality.
- Experience handling large quality teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong track record of reducing defects, improving process capability, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Candidates currently working in tyre manufacturing companies or related automotive/rubber industries would be preferred.
